Musée Yves Saint Laurent x Jardin Majorelle

The richness of a museum.

This museum is mind-blowing. Please excuse the term, which is not at all appropriate for such a magnificent visit, but I had to let it out.

This Saturday, November 4th, 2017, I had the opportunity to visit the YSL museum, then the fabulous Majorelle Garden, in the company of my friend Elena. Once we arrived, we paid our entrance fee of 130 MAD (Moroccan Dirham). The rate for foreign students like us is 65 MAD, with a guide provided, just to make our visit enjoyable.

Inside, we were welcomed by a magnificent exhibition photographed in 1992 by André Rau for ELLE Magazine. We thus discovered 30 years of the fashion house in Marrakech, featuring YSL's muse, the famous actress Catherine Deneuve.

The visit started well; afterwards, we headed toward the Yves Saint Laurent room, the very one that captured my attention. Everything is there—the work of a lifetime, unique pieces are on display. The creations are infinitely beautiful, all worthy of a great couturier. Projections of his fashion shows are also presented. You are then immersed in the world of Yves Saint Laurent, full of charm and magic. For the record, we had the opportunity to leave a note in a book that was at our disposal.

A lush garden.

After this unforgettable visit, we headed to the Majorelle Garden, which is just a stone's throw from the museum. I would like to point out that the ticket we bought also allowed us to visit this beautiful garden. Once inside, you immediately notice a small fountain right at the entrance, introducing our baptism into the discovery of this magnificent jewel.

Walking along these magnificent paths, we admired, with dazzled eyes, the immense cacti whose grandeur and eloquence could be felt from near and far.

Right in front of us, several paths led us to different contours and areas, surrounded by water features and wildly beautiful aquatic plants, all intertwined with one another.

Shortly after, a small colorful house caught our attention. The walls, full of youthful and warm colors, embellished by vines and blossoming flowers, brought us a certain freshness to end on a pretty, fragrant note, a pleasant visit to the world of our dear Yves Saint Laurent.
